Account verification is a way to confirm that a real person is behind that account. However, we do not guarantee that the visible userpic or any content uploaded by that user matches the actual account owner.
Verification means only that the admins saw a photo of this user with a piece of paper in their hands, on which the site name and login are written, and the administration considers this photo to be genuine.
We are working on implementing extended verification soon, which will be much more robust.
